SHAH ALAM – Female e-hailing drivers have been equated to a safer and more confident environment for passengers, Maxim E-Hailing says.

Its service head Mohad Hazwan Musley said based on its survey, female driving styles were characterised by a high level of safety.

“Rides with female drivers are characterised by a high level of safety because of their special driving style, they try to avoid sudden starts and stops as well as dangerous manoeuvres.

“Traveling with a woman behind the wheel is perfect for families with little children and young girls who want to feel safer and more confident when riding in a vehicle alone, especially when it's dark outside,” Hazwan said in a statement.

He added that passengers also noted a high level of service quality and rate rides with a female drive positively in 90 per cent cent of the case.

The study based on the statistics from 2019 to 2023 also found that Kuching had the highest number of female drivers in its e-hailing services followed by Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

“The third place is shared by the two largest cities in Malaysia by population which are Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

“Sandakan, a city located on the coast of the Sulu Sea in the state of Sabah, took fourth place. Rounding out the top five is Miri, the second-largest city in the state of Sarawak,” the statement read.
