KUALA LUMPUR - A Tesla car parked by the roadside suddenly caught fire in Puchong, Selangor, last night.

The Selangor Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Operations Deputy Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received an emergency call at 8.32 pm.

A total of seven members from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene.

"Upon arrival at the scene, the firefighters found that it involved a Tesla car that was 70 per cent engulfed in flames and did not involve any casualties.

"However, the fire was successfully extinguished by the firefighters.

"It is understood that the vehicle owner had parked it briefly to go for a meal," he said in a statement today.
