The struggle against Israel's cruelty needs to be strategic - Dr M
SHAH ALAM - The struggle against the Israeli regime's cruelty towards Palestine must be carried out systematically and strategically to successfully end the ongoing hostilities and wars.
In this regard, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia (Perkim) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, called upon Islamic nations to unite in their efforts to find a just and equitable solution for the Palestinian people so that their struggle is not in vain.
"Perkim condemns the continuous actions of the Western and United States media that create a narrative defending Israel by characterising the cruelty against Palestinian citizens as a response to terrorists, disregarding international laws.
"The actions of Hamas are the steps of people who have already reached a breaking point, having lost hope of obtaining justice from powerful nations that proudly present themselves as champions of justice and humanity.
"In reality, the attacks on the nation are a retaliation against those who fight for their freedom and rights that have been forcibly taken away," he said in a statement today.
Dr Mahathir added that Israel's cruelty is not a new issue; it has been ongoing until today, with the number of casualties increasing, including children, women, the elderly, and thousands of others who have been injured and murdered.
"For seven decades, Israel has committed war crimes, mass killings, genocide, and unimaginable cruelties against the Palestinian people.
"The actions of Hamas are expected from anyone who has been colonised, killed, and humiliated without guilt or remorse," he said.
