India seeking to host Olympics in 2036 - Prime Minister

MOSCOW - India will bid to host the 2036 Olympics and the 2029 Youth Olympics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday, reported Sputnik.

"India is eager to host the Olympics in the country. India will leave no stone unturned in the preparation for the successful organisation of the Olympics in 2036. This is the dream of the 140 crore [1.4 billion] Indians," Modi said during the 141st International Olympic Committee Session in Mumbai.

Modi added that India is also ready to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2029.
