IPOH - The "Pulangkan Najib" movement, which aims to collect 1 million petition signatures to free Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has gathered over 120,000 signatures in two weeks.

Coordinator Muhammad Farhan Khairuddin said the movement will be expanded to Johor, Pahang, Kedah, and Penang.

"This petition is being carried out because there is indeed an urgent need, and people are beginning to understand the judicial process concerning Najib's case.

"In the next two weeks, I believe we will amplify our efforts because more than 200 volunteers will be mobilised to collect signatures and distribute information.

"In the coming weeks, maybe one or two months, we will gather these signatures to be handed over to the authorities," he said when met by reporters at the People's Dialogue Programme along with lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah at the Red Crescent Hall here today.

Meanwhile, political activist Datuk Hamidah Osman said the movement will continue until the former prime minister is freed.

"This petition will be sent directly to Istana Negara because we know that, as explained earlier, this pardon is the absolute power of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the rulers of other states," she said.
