KUALA LUMPUR - An opposition MP admitted that he was confused with the second Madani Budget 2024 presented by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat here today.

Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad said this was due to several key focuses not specifically touched upon by the Tambun MP.

"Although (some things have been) touched upon in the presentation of the Half Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12), I was hoping that he would explain it back (in the 2024 Budget) but it did not happen.

"For example regarding the investment that was hyped before about Tesla and so on because we want to know if it really goes down to the people," he told reporters in Parliament.

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal added that he hoped the confusion raised would be answered during the debate session that will take place starting Monday.

"We are waiting until the day of the debate to hear the explanations that will be made by the relevant minister later," he added.

The Perikatan Nasional Youth Chief said the opposition will continue to play a role as a check and balance to the Unity Government.

"We on the opposition side will always play the role of check and balances so that the people really get the best returns from the 2024 Budget," he said.
