Budget 2024: Local creative talents to be supported to encourage creation of more art

KUALA LUMPUR - The government has allocated RM160 million to implement various initiatives for the benefit of artists.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said local creative talents must be supported to ensure the creation of artworks in Malaysia.

“The initiatives included RM60 million under the Digital Content Fund to promote local artworks and support content with national values.

“RM90 million under the Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI) initiative to further encourage the production of international-standard films.

“RM10 million to establish the MyCreative Matching Fund Scheme to support young artists in creative project development,” he said when tabling the Madani Malaysia Budget 2024.
