Police submit red notice application for Muhyiddin's son-in-law to Interpol
KUALA LUMPUR - The police have submitted a red notice application to the International Police (Interpol) for Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan who is the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the application was sent to Interpol Asia before it was referred to the Interpol headquarters based in Lyon, France.
“Asia Interpol was awaiting for an answer from its headquarters in Lyon and we are confident that a red notice would be released.
“The answer from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), we have received on Oct 3,” he said in a press conference at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters here on Tuesday.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain had previously stated that the police had received the documents needed from MACC before it was forwarded to Interpol.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki had said MACC was preparing several documents needed including the draft charges of the case to be submitted to the police to complete the red notice application against Muhyiddin’s son-in-law and another individual.
Azam in August said Muhammad Adlan, 48, and his lawyer Mansoor Saat, 69, needed to be present at MACC to help in the investigation of corruption and malpractice regarding the registration of a project, recruiting and biometric storage of foreign workers.
However, Immigration records showed both the individuals left Malaysia on May 17 and 21, respectively, and there are no records of them returning.
