Government must articulate its stance on relations with Israel
SITI AISYAH MOHAMADSHAH ALAM - The Malaysian government is urged to clearly state their stance of not having any diplomatic or economic relations with Israel, as was done by the previous leadership.
Deputy Perikatan Nasional Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said he would support Palestine in their efforts to defend their capital and stressed the importance for Muslims to preserve the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
He pointed out that the tyrannical policies of the Zionist regime, aimed at colonising and oppressing the Palestinian people and defiling the sanctity of the mosque, evoke anger not only among the people there but also among the global community.
“The armed response from the Palestinian liberation fighters was their right to defend their sovereignty and dignity after their voices and demands had been silenced by the world community, especially Western powers. They (the Western powers) shamelessly display hypocrisy in protecting Israel’s tyranny, despite frequent violations of international law.
"Nations of the world are urged to unite in addressing this crisis through consultation, particularly through the diplomatic channels of the United Nations (UN), by recognising the original borders of Palestine before 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital,” he stated in a Facebook post on Sunday.
It was reported that the Palestine health authority recorded at least 160 Palestinians killed, with thousands injured, following the retaliation launched by the Israeli Zionist regime.
Al-Jazeera reported that over 40 Israeli residents were killed, while the number of those injured following the early attack by Hamas fighters and the Al-Qassam brigade on Saturday reached 750 individuals.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal added that Malaysians were urged to reject and strongly condemn the oppression and tyranny of the colonialists.
“Solidarity and prayers from the people of this nation are needed for our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are striving to liberate their homeland from the colonialist grip,” he concluded.
