iPhone COD case: 'Come forward', police tells Daniel Haikal and fiancee

SHAH ALAM - The man, who has returned home after being reportedly missing in Penang during an iPhone sale, is requested to come forward to the police for further investigation.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police have been unable to contact or locate the victim and his fiancée currently.

"We urge them to immediately contact the South Klang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) or the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.

"For now, we have only received information regarding a missing person case reported at the Brickfields police headquarters, and the victim has since returned to his family," he said to Sinar today.

He added that there have been no reports of robbery or other crimes involving the victim.

Hussein said that they were currently attempting to contact the victim to ascertain the actual events that transpired.

"If there is confirmation from the victim regarding any criminal activity, the South Klang IPD will initiate an investigation," he said.

Twenty-seven-year-old Muhammad Daniel Haikal was reportedly rescued by a lorry driver yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid confirmed that they received a missing person report at the Pantai Police Station, Brickfields IPD, which was made by the man's fiancee.

Allaudeen said that the case was subsequently referred to the South Klang IPD after the victim was last seen meeting his customer at the GM Klang shopping centre.
