New Pelangai assemblyman to sponsor Umrah pilgrimage for five pilgrims
The promise will be fulfilled based on the readiness and suitability of the pilgrims, as assessed by the imams from five mosques in Pelangai.
BENTONG - New Pelangai state assemblyman Datuk Amizar Abu Adam has pledged to fulfill his vow to sponsor an Umrah pilgrimage package for five pilgrims from the less fortunate and asnaf (those eligible for zakat) within the constituency.
"InshaAllah, if there are no hindrances, this vow will be fulfilled based on the readiness and suitability of the pilgrims, as assessed by the imams from five mosques in Pelangai," he told Sinar Daily.
The Pelangai by-election was held yesterday, with Barisan Nasional retaining its hold on the state seat.
Amizar won the contest, securing 7,324 votes against Perikatan Nasional's (PN) Kasim Samat who garnered 4,375 votes.
