PN to face problems if continue using Sanusi as icon - Razeef
MUKHRIZ MAT HUSINSHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director general Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's 'big mouth' is allegedly among the reasons why Pelangai voters rejected the coalition in the by-election.
PKR deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin said since the start of the campaigning, the people in the constituency was seen to be uncomfortable by the arrogant and rude statement made by the Kedah Menteri Besar.
"In my opinion, PN will keep having problems if it continues to use rude people like Sanusi as its icon.
"However, rejection was clearly seen after Sanusi made an impolite statement regarding the Prime Minister, who had delivered a Friday sermon in New York, United States of America.
"The statement was also seen as an attempt to fool the people in Pelangai, and in response, PN supporters themselves boycotted the coalition's mega ceramah organised at Dataran Purnama five days ago, and after that, the PN ceramah started to look rather dull," he said in a statement today.
In the meantime, Razeef said that Sanusi's act of using religious and racial issues to gain support was also clearly not favoured by the people.
He also revealed that the Kedah PN chairman had even several times uttered vulgar words while cracking jokes in public ceramah.
"The government, which is not entertaining Sanusi's statements, showcased maturity and was the right move.
"This move has simultaneously sparked a worry among PN leadership as no Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional leaders were successfully drawn into their 'clown' trap," he stressed.
