Man arrested for allegedly raping stepdaughter since she was nine
GERIK - A 41-year-old man has been arrested by the police on Thursday, under suspicion of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old stepdaughter over the course of the last three years.
The arrest unfolded following a distressing report submitted by the primary school student around 12.30PM, as disclosed by Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
According to official accounts, the young girl has allegedly endured sexual abuse at the hands of the suspect since she was nine years old.
The most recent incident transpired in a remote hut within the Air Ganda plantation area just last Tuesday.
Mohd Yusri remarked that, the victim has been taken for examination by a pediatric specialist at Taiping Hospital."
"Two old tear marks in the child's genital area during the examination," he revealed.
The suspect has been placed in custody for a period of seven days, extending until the following Thursday, to facilitate further investigation.
"The investigation is being conducted under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code for rape," Mohd Yusri said.
He added that the investigation papers will be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor upon the conclusion of the investigation.
