EC received no official reports of commotion at PN Ceramah
BENTONG - The Election Commission (EC) has not received any official reports of a commotion that erupted at a Perikatan Nasional (PN) ceramah in Simpang Pelangai yesterday, where a group of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's supporters staged a flash mob.
EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh revealed this during his visit to the SMK Chemomoi voting centre today.
The group, carrying a placard saying "Ingat Jasa Najib" (remember Najib's contributions), showed up around the same time former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was about to depart after delivering a speech at the ceramah attended by over 1,000 people.
"In terms of security and order, there have been no official reports of incidents related to the recent PN Mega Ceramah," Abdul Ghani added.
After two weeks of campaigning, Abdul Ghani said that the spirit among the people in Pelangai remains remarkably high and enthusiastic.
"It is a testament to the importance of civic engagement and the commitment of the citizens to shaping their future through the democratic process," he said.
The final ceramah yesterday witnessed Dr Mahathir alongside PN leaders, including PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The programme also saw a larger presence of supporters compared to other ceramah held throughout this by-election campaign.
