BENTONG — Less than 12 hours before Pelangai voters go to poll for its by-election, supporters start to gather at Dataran Purnama, Pelangai for the Ceramah Mega Perikatan Nasional (PN).

The lineups for the ‘grand finale’ tonight include prominent names like former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PN election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

Interestingly, the crowd in Pelangai did not comprise just the local communities but also attracted PN supporters from other states.

Hailed from Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan, 53-year-old Suhaimi Sakeh said that Dr Mahathir, who had been actively involved in the political scene to unite Malaysians, had the same vision as PN.

He said that Dr Mahathir expressed a strong commitment to unifying the Malaysian nation and emphasised that PN had the necessary capabilities to make this aspiration a reality.

Suhaimi said PN had garnered significant support, particularly among the youth in Pelangai.

"I am willing to be far from my home in Negeri Sembilan if it means contributing to our beloved nation.

“With a positive mind, I hope that PN will emerge victorious in Pelangai,” he said when met at the grand finale.

Another PN Negeri Sembilan supporter, Khalid Abdul Karim, 64, expressed his support for the coalition party.

Khalid, who is also Bersatu member said that the leadership of the Madani government did not resonate with hi and praised PN for its alignment with his principles and beliefs.

He highlighted PN's credibility, its stance on religion, and the presence of capable leaders as factors that influenced his support for the party.

“The leadership of the Madani Government does not align with my views.

“However, the PN leadership aligns with my beliefs and is the right choice in terms of credibility, religion, and having good leaders,” he said.

The Pelangai by-election tomorrow would see a three-cornered fight between Datuk Amizar Abu Adam from Barisan Nasional (BN), Kasim Samat from PN and Independent candidate Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni.
