Shell unveils new collectibles – the Star Wars Racers

SUBANG JAYA – Star Wars fans, rejoice!

Shell Malaysia has just unveiled an exclusive line of remote-control cars in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia.

The highly anticipated collection, launched at Sunway Pyramid today, featured six remote-control car designs which featured Star Wars’ unforgettable characters which include Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Darth Maul, The Mandalorian, Boba Fett and BB-8 racers.

Shell Mobility Malaysia General Manager Seow Lee Ming said the response to the company's annual limited-edition collection had been nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to its passionate V-Power enthusiasts.

“We know timeless stories like Star Wars continue to resonate among fans of all ages in Malaysia.

“We knew we had to celebrate these passionate communities and we hope fans will have tonnes of fun collecting and racing with the new collection,” she said during the launch.

Seow added that Shell Malaysia was honoured to be the first in the world to incorporate Star Wars-inspired racing car design on not only toy cars but also digital versions that player could explore in their Shell Racing mobile app.

“Just like Shell V-Power fuels the inner racing passion in our customers, this exciting collection reflects our understanding of local fans, a passion for innovation and pushing boundaries to deliver unbeatable experiences for our customers of all ages, our testament to continuing to be better by far,” she said.

The Shell’s Star Wars collection retains all special features including the Bluetooth control and proprietary smart battery from the Shell Motorsports Collection last year.

Customers, Seow said could enjoy an exhilarating racing experience now themed after galactic adventures through the Shell Racing App on App Store and Google Play.

The limited-edition cars would be up on sale at Shell stations nationwide from Oct 6 to Nov 19.

“Individual car models except the Darth Vader Racer are available for purchase at RM49.90 with a minimum of RM50 fuel purchase in a single receipt of Shell FuelSave 95, Shell V-Power 97 or Shell V-Power Racing.

“The smart Bluetooth battery is available at RM30 with the same minimum fuel purchas as the car models,” Seow added.

For the Darth Vader Racer, Seow said it would be free with every Shell Helix Ultra/Power 4L purchase at Shell stations.

Customers could also purchase the Collector Casing at RM89.90 when they pump RM80 Shell V-Power Racing in a single receipt.
