Tapir collision leaves four injured on Kluang road

KLUANG - Three motorcyclists and a pillion rider were injured after colliding with a tapir crossing the road at Kilometer 79 of Jalan Kota Tinggi - Kluang near Taman Sri Impian yesterday.

Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the crash at 8.30pm involved three motorcyclists - Suhaimi Aziz, 57, Mohd Edham Saad, 40, and Amar Iskandar Aidil, 19.

"All the victims suffered injuries on their shoulders, hands, and legs and were rushed to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Kluang for treatment," he said in a statement today.

Preliminary investigations found that the three motorcyclists were travelling from Taman Sri Impian to Taman Sri Lambak when they collided with the tapir.

The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59).
