SHAH ALAM - The Finance Ministry has affirmed that the viral social media message regarding the RM1,000 Rahmah Basic Aid via MyKad is fake.

In a message on the X app, the ministry also urged the public not to be deceived by false news.

"This is fake. The Finance Ministry confirms that the information regarding the aid as circulated is false," it said today.

According to the viral message, the public was asked to click on a link and provide their phone number and identity card number for verification purposes.

Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry urged the public to refer to the media release concerning the Rahmah Basic Aid (SARa) at http://https//www.mof.gov.my/portal/ms/berita/siaran-media/penerima-sumbangan-tunai-rahmah-str-berstatus-miskin-tegar-bakal-terima-sumbangan-asas-rahmah-sara-mulai-17-julai-2023.

"Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and eligibility checks can be obtained from the Official STR Cash Aid Portal at http://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my/ while further information on the SARa implementation mechanism can be referred to at http://mykasih.com.my/,”it said.
