'I felt unease before finding out she was murdered by her husband' - Victim's friend
ALOR SETAR - A woman says she had a feeling of unease before finding out that her close friend was stabbed to death by her own husband due to jealousy at a house in Jalan Padang Nyu here, earlier this morning.
Rosima Dollah, 31, said she felt that something was wrong when she last communicated with her friend, Munira Abu Bakar, 31, on Friday.
"I felt strange when she didn't comment on my WhatsApp status like usual, besides announcing that she won't be active in running events anymore after this.
"She also said she was depressed at the moment," she said when met by reporters at the Forensics Department of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) here, today.
However, Rosima said she was shocked when she received the news that her friend whom she had known for 18 years had died as a result of being murdered.
She said she often read about murder cases like this but never expected that it would happen to her best friend.
She said she and another friend of theirs called Along have been good friends with the victim since they studied together in Form One at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Raja Puan Muda Tengku Fauziah.
Rosima described that her best friend whom she called Angah was a gentle and kind person, who often advised her.
"She always gives advice and she is a person who would not do anything bad. We will take her advice as an example," she said.
The victim's classmate, Ifa Adah Sapri, 31, said she studied with the victim at the Kangar Community Nursing College in 2011.
Ifa was shocked by the incident and said the victim was known for being kind to others.
Earlier, it was reported that a retired soldier turned himself in at the Perlis Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) guardhouse after stabbing his wife to death, believed to be due to jealousy, at a house in Jalan Padang Nyu here earlier this morning.
The 31-year-old victim was a nurse at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar who died after being stabbed in the incident at about 6am.
Arau district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi said it was believed that the 38-year-old suspect had suspected that his wife was cheating on him and they had an argument in the living room of the house when the victim was about to leave for work.
