'We do not want the people to be victimised' - Zahid
ROSILAWATI ROSEDIBENTONG - "We don't want the people to be victimised when the state is governed by a party that contradicts its policy, let alone its political stance," says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said the cooperation between the federal and state governments was greatly desired by the people as a whole.
"This causes the people especially those who had chosen representatives either in the state assembly or Parliament to face problems.
"It is because the application is not only a matter of development or facilities, but what is more important is how the unification of thought can be created so that it is parallel and in line with the state and federal stages," he said.
The Rural and Regional Development Minister said this in his opening speech at the ministry's Sentuhan Kasih Desa Pelangai TVET and Rural Entrepreneurship Mini Expo at Dataran Simpang Pelangai, today.
Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Barisan Nasional (BN) state leaders.
Zahid said if voters in Pelangai made the right choice by electing a representative that aligned with the federal and the state, the people in Pelangai in particular as well as in Bentong and Pahang will benefit from it.
"For that reason, Oct 7 is a date for the people of Pelangai to decide whether to continue the excellent services provided by Tan Sri Adnan Yaakob when he was Pelangai assemblyman and Pahang Menteri Besar who had been able to make the best transformation for Pelangai, Bentong and Pahang," he added.
In the meantime, Zahid also said the ministry has taken an approach to establish cooperation and set aside any differences as well as avoid a silo mentality.
