MACC discovers new evidence in Radzi’s case

KAJANG - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has discovered plenty of new evidence related to alleged corruption case of former Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin linked to a book printing project worth about RM80 million.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said that the case was still under investigation.

"In regard to summoning him (Radzi), I leave it to the (MACC) investigators.

"A lot of new evidence had been gathered. We are still investigating, give us time," he told reporters after the MACC Shooting Event with the media at the Malaysian Prison College Target Range today.

On Sept 24, the MACC confirmed that it would summon Radzi for further investigation.

Prior to that, MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya also confirmed the remand of two individuals including a former political secretary to testify at MACC Putrajaya office.

In regard to an investigation into a bribery case involving the recruitment of foreign workers involving a senior official of Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar, Azam revealed that they were still awaitinga further decision from the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP).

"The case has been submitted to the DPP and we are still waiting for their decision.

"We completed the investigation two months ago and are still waiting for the DPP," he said.

In May, the media reported Sivakumar confirmed that five of his officials who were investigated by the MACC had their contracts terminated.

Sivakumar reportedly said that the termination was done to ensure that the ministry was able to operate smoothly.
