KUALA LUMPUR - Indonesian legendary musician Ahmad Dhani Prasetyo hopes that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will bring about significant changes in Malaysia.

At the same time, he also wished that the aspirations of the people of Malaysia would be fulfilled by Anwar soon.

Drawing parallels between himself and the Tambun MP, Ahmad Dhani noted that both he and the Prime Minister had faced time behind bars.

He was serving 11 months behind bars on a case of hate speech at Cipinang Prison in East Jakarta in 2019.

Meanwhile, Anwar, who was also the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman coalition and PKR president, was jailed twice.

“However, the stark difference lay in the duration, whereby Anwar endured 11 years in prison while I was in prison for 11 months.

“I also hope that the Prime Minister will become one of the most exceptional leaders in Malaysia's history,” he told media members at the ‘DEWA 19: A Night at the Orchestra Chapter 5’ press conference at Axiata Arena.

Dhani, who was also a member of the Indonesian legendary music band Dewa 19, will be performing tomorrow live in Malaysia (Sept 29).
