Three friends bathing in river injured by uprooted tree
SHAH ALAM - A short getaway for three friends was cut short when an uprooted tree fell on them while bathing in a river at Batu Bertengek Waterfall in Kuala Kubu Bharu.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a distress call at 11.59am and a team of five were deployed to the scene.
"The victims were saved by the public before the Fire Department personnel arrived.
"There were three victims (two female, one male) where one of the female victims is seriously injured while the other two are lightly injured," he said in a statement.
It was believed that the victims were trapped under the tree for about 15 minutes before they were noticed by the public.
Mukhlis also said the victims will be rushed to the nearest hospital as the rescue mission is still ongoing.
