Sabah back to bumpy roads after Agong leaves
KOTA KINABALU - About three weeks after the Kembara Kenali Borneo by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Billah Shah in the state, the road in certain areas had once again gone viral for once again being 'moon surface roads'.
It followed the claims of certain road users that the paths were damaged due to maintenance using low-quality materials.
The conditions of the roads were shared by TikTok accounts which displayed a portion of the roads in the state that were used by the Majesties had now been damaged again.
The pictures were shared three days ago and were captioned ‘Agong has gone back, so does Sabah roads’ with a source from a news portal.
Meanwhile, a Facebook user Calvin CK’s had uploaded several images which showed the low-quality materials used to repair the roads.
The account had questioned the contractor’s maintenance of Jalan Gum-Gum Batu 16 who used fine rocks placed on the road surface.
Pictures displayed showed the road conditions previously paved had started to crack and caused difficulties for road users.
Libaran MP Datuk Suhaimi Nasir was quoted with statements requesting roads in his area to be repaired and maintained as it was the main route to Sandakan.
Suhaimi previously highlighted the issue of the road damages and had asked for the Works Department to inspect the conditions for themselves.
