Foreign national operates bus without valid licence, roadtax
PETALING JAYA - The Road Transport Department (RTD) has seized a bus operated by a foreign national without a valid licence at KM10.2 of the Federal Highway heading towards Shah Alam here on Sunday.
Selangor RTD deputy director Ahmad Kamarunzaman Mehat said the operation led by the state RTD Enforcement Division was conducted from 4pm.
He said during the two-hour operation, the department issued a total of 63 summonses for various offences and among them were for taking place for two hours had released 63 summons on a multitude of offences among them were for expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) or road tax, no Competent Driving Licence (CDL) and the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence as well as for technical issues.
“A bus was seized as it was driven by a 31-year-old Indian national without licence.
“It was found that the bus’ road tax had expired and there were two passengers on the bus,” he said, today.
He said the purpose of the enforcement was to ensure drivers operating PSVs obeyed the road rules and regulations.
Kamarunzaman said continuous enforcement would be held periodically with strict actions taken against drivers violating the law.
“The public can share any complaints on road traffic offences via [email protected] or the e-aduan application,” he added.
