Lovers carrying drugs evaded police roadblock
SEPANG - Four individuals, including a foreign couple attempted to evade a car roadblock at Jalan Persiaran Apec, here on Monday.
Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said, the multi-purpose vehicle, a Toyota Vellfire was found to be suspicious and those onboard were arrested at the scene of the incident at about 11.30pm
"The police then asked the driver of the vehicle to present his identification documents and driver's license but he ignored them before speeding away.
"The police patrol car then chased the vehicle through the Putrajaya Highway until it exited the Serenia Toll Plaza, Dengkil and crashed into the toll bar at the location," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the vehicle passed through Jalan Dengkil-Banting before crashing into another road block.
"The suspect's vehicle later crashed in an area near Kampung Olak Lempit, Batu 41 Kuala Langat.
"Two suspects who were believed to be lovers aged 32 and 21 years old were arrested while the other two suspects managed to escape," he said.
He said the inspection carried out found two transparent plastic packages containing drugs believed to be syabu with an estimated weight of 103.61 grams.
"In addition, the two suspects were found to only have copies of their passports and no valid travel documents.
"The case is being investigated under Section 186/279 of the Penal Code and Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
