Zaid Ibrahim says he will reduce postings on X

SHAH ALAM - Frustrated over his mobile phone being confiscated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) during an investigation, former minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is determined to reduce his posts on the X application.
He claimed that his smartphone was taken for investigation purposes but only returned to him after a year.
He said this forced him to spend nearly RM5,000 to buy a new phone.
"I will reduce my posts from now on, not because I'm afraid of them (MCMC), but every time I'm being investigated, my phone will be seized and it's expensive," he said in a post on X.
Previously, the police confirmed that they took Zaid’s statement following his remarks on Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).
Meanwhile, the former minister in the prime minister's department said he believed that Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil was someone who fought for Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
"I never thought it was possible for him (Fahmi) to become a defender of this section so quickly when he has the power. But I feel like we all change,” he said.
