SHAH ALAM - Former senior education minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin wants those who spread slander on his involvement in corruption in a direct negotiation project worth RM80 million to apologise.

In a three-minute video posted on his Facebook page, Radzi said the accusation thrown at him had a major effect on his reputation.

“This is a major slander and to those spreading it, you may be happy it had gone viral, but that’s merely worldly happiness.

“You will have to answer it in the hereafter. This is an evil act,” he said, today.

He said his wife Datin Balkis Zakaria was not from a royal family and has never been involved in any affairs involving the ministry.

“My wife’s name is Balkis Datuk Syeikh Haji Zakaria Bin Ahmad Wan Besar. Those in Kedah would have known about a great ulama who published books and had often appeared on the radio. So, this is my wife.

“She has never been involved with ministry affairs. For example, during the Movement Control Order (MCO) when asked about when schools would be reopened, I simply said wait for the announcement on television.

“This is an example that we are strict and my wife had no direct involvement,” he said.

“I pray for the best for all and hope everyone pray for the best for me and my family at this time,” Radzi said.
