'Viral video is politically motivated, aimed to topple me' - Fuziah
NOR SYAMIRA LIANA NOR ASHAHASHAH ALAM - Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister Fuziah Salleh has questioned the actions of individuals who have re-shared an old video recorded in July regarding the prices of goods.
She said the viral video was taken out of context and manipulated to change its narrative.
"That's why I filed a police report because it had political motives and was aimed at undermining me," she said in a post on Facebook today.
On Sept 20, it was reported in the media that Fuziah clarified that the viral video had been taken out of context, and it was recorded in July when she visited a supermarket in Langkawi, Kedah.
As a result of this, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister's office made a police report yesterday regarding the viral video on the prices of goods involving Fuziah.
Further commenting, Fuziah said she does not deny that the prices of goods on the market today are challenging.
"I acknowledge that many citizens are facing difficulties, which is why I am striving to do everything within the scope and authority of the ministry.
"I hope the public understands," she said.
