Accused of vaping: Ikmal Hisham to take legal action against PM's photographer
TUAN BUQHAIRAH TUAN MUHAMAD ADNANPUTRAJAYA - Tanah Merah MP Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz will take legal action against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's photographer, who claimed that he was using an electronic cigarette in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.
He said a police report on the matter will also be filed by his officers at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters (IPD) this evening.
"We will take legal action," he told Sinar today.
He stated that a media statement will be issued as soon as the police report is completed.
Ikmal had previously denied using a vape inside the Dewan Rakyat, explaining that the cylindrical object in question was a pen, not a vape as alleged.
"Everyone knows I'm not a smoker. I can't even stand sitting next to a smoker, let alone smoking or using a vape," he said.
The photo in question circulated on social media after the Prime Minister's photographer was believed to have uploaded the image to X social media site.
The photographer known as Sadiq Asyraf uploaded the image with a caption stating, "Absolutely ripped, taking a vape drag while leaving the chamber."
