JOHOR BAHRU - The Johor police force have insisted that there was no money given to two members of the police patrol car unit (MPV).

Recently a video had went viral on the the TikTok application in an incident at an industrial area in Kulai on Sept 3, where two policemen were seen to be receiving something from two other men.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said, from an investigation, it was found that the officers involved accepted drinks given to them by two local men who are also factory owners.

He said at the time of the incident, the police were patrolling before stopping in front of a factory because there were people gathered for the 'Hungry Ghost' festival celebrated by the Chinese community.

"We opened investigation papers after a police report was made by the two MPV officers and the man in the video who is also the owner of the factory on Wednesday.

"The MPV stopped in front of the factory because there were people and asked if there was any problems. The officer's action of not getting out of the MPV raised questions when the owner of the factory came out to give something.

"However, the results of the investigation have found that they were only given drinks not money," he said at a press conference after the Johor contingent national heroes medal awards ceremony here on Thursday.

Recently, on Wednesday, a 38-second video went viral showing two men giving something to the police officers.
