Police nab two Rohingya suspected of raping student in car
MELAKA - A teenage girl claims she was raped by two Rohingya men, including a friend she only met a day ago through WhatsApp.
The 15-year-old victim was allehedly raped in turn by both 14 and 27-year-old suspects in a car at Pantai Klebang last Thursday.
Melaka Police Chief Datuk Zainol Samah said that a police report was made by the victim's brother a day after the incident, before the two suspects were arrested within 24 hours.
He said initial investigation found that the victim, who is a form three student, left home at 2pm on Sept 14 to go for a walk with a male friend she had just met by riding pillion on a motorcycle.
He said the victim was then taken for a ride in a Proton Preve type of car in the Klebang Beach area before allegedly being raped by the two individuals.
"After that the victim was left at a playground in the Batu Berendam area between 2 and 3am.
"Examination by medical experts at Melaka Hospital found that there was a new tear on the victim's genitals," he said in a statement here on Wednesday.
He added that all the suspects were remanded for seven days from Sept 15 to Sept 21.
"The case is being investigated according to Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape," he said.
