Min Yasmin, Julfekar welcome first child after 10 years of marriage
SHAH ALAM - After 10 years of waiting, singer Min Yasmin and her husband composer Julfekar Ahmad Shah welcome their first child on Malaysia Day after a decade of marriage.
The 'Belum Lelah Setia' singer delivered a baby boy at the Sabah Likas Women and Children’s Hospital (HWKKS) in Kota Kinabalu, here.
Julfekar shared the news in a Facebook post expressing gratitude adding that their son was a premature baby.
"After trying to have a baby for 10 years, I am grateful that Min safely gave birth to our baby boy on Malaysia Day on Sept 16 at 7.40pm.
“Min was rushed to the HWKKS in an ambulance due to high blood pressure. After discussions, to avoid complications due to slow fetal heart rate, Min gave birth through a caesarean section immediately,” he wrote, today.
Julfekar asked for the public to pray for the safety and health of their son who was born at 30 weeks (seven and a half months).
“May our child be able to grow healthy like other children. May our son become a righteous person,” he said.
Julfekar who was now in the Philippines said he would return to Sabah immediately after completing his work.
“A few days before Min gave birth, I was on a flight to the Philippines. I wanted to return as soon as I heard the news, but Min asked me to finish my work first before coming back and she asked me not to worry too much as her parents had arrived to accompany her,” he said.
Julfekar added that he was grateful that his wife and son who was born at 880 grammes were safe.
He said the baby would be placed in an incubator for two months for observations.
