KUALA LUMPUR - Kuala Lumpur police have arrested 11 people and issued 5,953 summonses to road offenders during an operation held yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief Assistant Commissioner Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the operation focused on various offences, including parking in pedestrian lanes or on white lines (203 summonses), stopping in yellow boxes (5 summonses), driving without a license (106 summonses), running red lights (41 summonses), driving without a license (foreigners) (4 summonses), and obscured or fancy registration numbers (20 summonses).

"A total of 4,647 summonses were issued for traffic obstruction offenses, and 927 summonses were imposed for other offenses," he said in a statement today.

Sarifudin said the operation involved 40 officers and 664 personnel.

The main operation focused on speed limits and traffic signal compliance, while other operations included motorcycle operation, street gang operation, illegal parking operation, driving under influence operation, special operation, various operation, and obstruction operation.
