Accidents in Selangor upped by 10.39 per cent from Jan to Aug 2023

SHAH ALAM - Selangor has recorded a total of 113,708 accidents from January til August, 2023 which was revealed to be an increment of 10.39 per cent or 10,704 cases, compared to the statistics -- of the same period -- tallied last year.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, also disclosed that the statistics for fatal accidents -- from January to August 2023 -- also saw an increment compared to last year's; from 658 in 2022 to 709 cases.

‘There have also been three cases of accidents involving police officers this year, involving deaths, a serious injury and a minor injury cases.

“All road users are advised to drive responsibly, prioritise personal safety and obey the road rules that have been set.” he told Sinar Harian on Friday

He said that the police have implemented road safety campaigns so that road users will be made aware of the importance of keeping not just them but their families and others safe as well.

“I urge members of the force to come together and continue the team’s mission and vision towards creating a safer and more peaceful country,” he said.
