KOTA KINABALU - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a former Government Linked Company (GLC) senior manager in Sabah at Tawau on Tuesday.

The man in his 40s was arrested at around 10.30am after he was suspected of making false claims of around RM26,000 between November 2017 and January 2018.

Sources stated the suspect was ordered by a company to perform replacement work for three pipes in a factory based on producing oil palm products.

However, the replacement work was not implemented, but the claims were made by the suspect.

The suspect was released on RM5,000 bail with a surety.

Meanwhile, Sabah MACC director Datuk S Karunanithy, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.

"The suspect would be tried tomorrow (Wednesday) in the Tawau Special Corruption Court," he said.
