Police arrest man suspected of assaulting homeless person in KL
KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested a man suspected of assaulting a homeless person on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, near here, on Saturday.
Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the department received a report related to the incident at 12.11am.
"The incident in question was reported through a submission from the owner of account X," Noor Dellhan said they apprehended a 36-year-old man at 1.46am earlier today.
"The motive behind the incident is still under investigation, and we are trying to locate the victim," he said.
He added that the suspect has been remanded for three days starting today to assist in the investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 506 of the same act.
"We will complete the investigation papers before referring them to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further instructions," he said.
