Man stabbed by colleague before being thrown into pool

MANJUNG - A man was found dead with a stab wound on his chest.

He was allegedly murdered by a colleague in Lumut last Friday.

The body of the Myanmar victim in his 40s was found in a pool by his employer at around 2pm.

Manjung District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamed Nordin Abdullah revealed that the victim and the suspect had indulged in some alcohol which led to a fight.

"The victim's body was found in a pool that was used as a waste disposal site and the examination revealed a stab wound on the chest suspected to have been caused by the suspect.

"The 53-year-old victim's employer informed that the suspect who is the victim's co-worker and also a Myanmar national had not come to work since the day of the incident and is suspected of trying to escape," he said when contacted today.

He said that efforts to locate the suspect were made to assist in the investigation of the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He said that the victim's body was sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB), Ipoh to find out the cause of death.

"People who have information about the incident can reach out to the Head of Criminal Investigation Division of Manjung District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 012-5077026 to assist with the investigation," he said.
