PUTRAJAYA - Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman won the Muar parliamentary seat with the support of Pakatan Harapan (PH), said DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

Loke said that even though Syed was not a PH candidate, he was still considered part of the PH bloc against Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th general election (GE15).

"Syed did not win Muar with only PH and DAP's support. He also had the support of PH voters," Loke said at a press conference after the DAP party conference.

Loke added that the voters in Muar voted for Syed to ensure political stability and to show their confidence in the unity government.

The DAP party conference 2023 was held at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel today.

It was the first DAP conference since the formation of the unity government after GE15.

The conference was attended by a number of high-profile figures, including Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli, and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The conference also saw the attendance of Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
