SHAH ALAM - The unity government’s victory in the Johor by-election clearly shows that the public is rejecting the opposition’s green wave, says Amanah President.

In a Facebook post, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the unity government needed to work hard in the next four years and prove the unity among the parties.

“The victories in these two seats proves that the people start to reject the green wave and the extremism Perikatan Nasional (PN) wants to bring.

“We need to work hard in the upcoming four years and prove that the unity between PH and BN can provide prosperity for Malaysians,” he said.

He further thanked the voters and party’s machinery who worked hard during the by-election campaigns.

“I would like to thank the main leadership of Johor BN and the entire machinery that has worked hard to win the Pakatan Harapan candidate in both the Pulai Parliamentary seat and the Simpang Jeram state seat.

“Thank you to all the staff who have worked hard since the beginning of the campaign period. Thank you to Johorians for giving confidence to Pakatan Harapan and the unity government,” he said.

Earlier, PH candidate Nazri Abdul Rahman won the Simpang Jeram state seat in today’s by-election, winning by a majority of 3,514 votes.
