Update: PH set to retain Pulai and Simpang Jeram as of 8.20pm

SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is set to retain the Pulai parliamentary set and Simpang Jeram state seat in Johor according to unofficial early results.

Umno Secretary-General Datuk Seri Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, in a Facebook posting, said Suhaizan Kaiat of PH was ahead with a majority of more than 12,600 votes his nemesis Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Zulkifli Jaafar.

He said PH’s Nazri Abdul Rahman was also leading the race with 3,300 votes ahead of PN’s Dr Mazri Yahya in Simpang Jeram.

Victory for PH in Pulai ensures the federal unity coalition retains two-thirds majority in the Dewan Rakyat.

Suhaizan Kaiat (PH) 11,599

Zulkifli Jaafar (PN): 7,299
