JOHOR BAHRU - Pulai Parliamentary Perikatan Nasional (PN) by-election candidate Zulkifli Jaafar has urged voters not to wait until the last minute to cast their ballots.

He said that voters should come out early and he hopes that the voter turnout for the Pulai Parliamentary by-election can reach 80 per cent.

"This high percentage is a factor in PN's victory.

"If it's lower than that, our chances of winning will not be affected.

"We also need to see the percentage of Malay voters who turn out to vote.

"(Victory) depends on the voter turnout, and I hope the percentage of Malay voters who come out to vote is higher.

"The trend of Malay voters in the 15th General Election (GE15) and previous state elections was low; I hope the percentage in this by-election is different," he told reporters.

Earlier, Zulkifli accompanied his mother-in-law, Montiah Emam, 77, to cast her vote at SJK (C) Tampoi today.
