Lodge complaints about bullying directly on Education Ministry's website

SHAH ALAM – Parents, guardians and students can lodge bullying complaints directly through the Bullying Complaint Portal on the Education Ministry website during the Sinar Bestari Education Carnival held at the Karangkraf Complex, here.

The carnival is being held for three days starting yesterday (Friday).

Education Ministry Corporate Communications Unit Officer Azlina Abdu Rahman said the officials at the carnival would demonstrate how to file complaints related to bullying for the complainants.

"Here, the public and students can directly submit bullying complaints through the Bullying Complaint Portal system," she said when met during the education carnival at Dataran Karangkraf at Seksyen 15, here, yesterday.

Azlina said each complaint will be screened within 24 hours before the complainant receives a response on the third day.

"The ministry will convene a school consensus meeting with parents and students involved to address the bullying complaint internally," she explained.

She further added that if the complaint involved a serious bullying case, it will be referred to the police for investigation.

Meanwhile, the ministry's Learning Platform Sector and Education Technology Resources Division deputy director Wan Mohd Mohyeddin Wan Yacob said they would also provide exposure to the Malaysia Digital Education Learning Initiative (DELIMa) platform at the Education Ministry booth.

He said DELIMa can be accessed by every student up to matriculation programme using the ID provided by the ministry.

DELIMa encompassed three main aspects, namely personalised learning, user experience and data analysis.

Various applications were provided, including artificial intelligence (AI) technology, EduwebTV, free online games that contribute to the Physical Activity, Sports and Co-Curriculum Assessment (PAJSK) scores.

"Many are not aware of the attractive offerings in DELIMa and at this booth, we will introduce it to students and teachers," he said.

DELIMa is the Education Minister’s digital learning platform developed to facilitate online teaching and learning sessions.

Introduced on July 1, 2019, through the Google Classroom, it was now well-received by students and teachers.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry's booth will present information and activities related to the Imam Nawawi's Hadith 40 understanding module on Saturday.

On Friday, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, officially launched the Sinar Bestari Education Carnival at the Karangkraf Complex here.

In her opening speech at the carnival, Fadhlina said organising the education carnival with the theme "Driving Digital Generation Education" is the best platform to ensure community participation was based on the latest information.

"I hope this carnival will have a significant impact on everyone, especially with the support of the local community, schools, and parents," she said.
