Kelantan awards a bungalow worth RM428,500 to Qayyim
KOTA BHARU - The Kelantan state government has awarded a bungalow to the Champion Qari of the International Quran Recitation and Memorization Council (MTHQA) 63rd Edition, Muhammad Qayyim Nizar Sarimi.
The gesture became even sweeter as Muhammad Qayyim Nizar Sarimi received the gift on his birthday, which falls on Sept 7.
The announcement was made by the Kelantan chief minister, Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, during the closing speech of the Kelantan Chief Minister's Address ceremony held in Kota Darulnaim, here, on Thursday.
Nassuruddin further elaborated that the gift was in recognition of Muhammad Qayyim Nizar's contributions in bringing honour to the state and the nation on the international stage.
"I would also like to announce that the Kelantan state government is providing a bungalow to the international Quran recitation champion, Muhammad Qayyim Nizar.
"The value of the bungalow is RM428,500," he said.
Muhammad Qayyim Nizar, 25, is a visually impaired individual (OKU) who reads the Quran in Braille.
In the prestigious competition, he achieved an impressive score of 94.96 per cent surpassing participants from Iran, with Alireza Bizhaniavval scoring 93.30 per cent. The participant from Brunei Darussalam, Awang Mohd Zul-Hafiz Awang Tengah, secured third place with a score of 90.38 per cent.
Muhammad Qayyim Nizar holds a Diploma in Quran Memorization and a Bachelor's degree in Quran Memorization from the Sultan Ismail Petra International College (KIAS) in Nilam Puri, here."
