MACHANG – A woman gets a shock when she finds a 100kg reticulated python invading her durian orchard in Kampung Pak Gombak, Joh, here today.

The reticulated python was coiled up near a durian tree when the woman in her 40s wanted to pick fruits in her orchard at about 2pm.

Machang Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Deputy Officer Civil Defence Lieutenant Mohd Fadli Hassan said they received a distress call on the incident at 2.05pm and six personnel were dispatched to the scene.

"As soon as we arrived, we saw the seven-meter-long python asleep.

"Our personnel took about 30 minutes to capture the reptile," he said when met by reporters at the APM Machang office here today.

He said the python acted aggressively during the operation to capture it.

He added that this was the largest python captured by APM Machang this year.
