Ryzal Durian Kimchi seeks compensation of RM40,000 over land deal gone sour
SHAH ALAM - Social media influencer Ryzal Durian Kimchi has alleged that he was deceived in a land purchase agreement involving property in Kelantan valued at over RM500,000.
Ryzal Ibrahim, 31, said that the breach of agreement involved an individual in his 50s from the same state who owned the family land.
According to him, the agreement was made on November 26, 2020, under his sister's name for a piece of land in the Padang Enggang district of Kelantan, with a price of RM40,000.
"The agreement was for the land to become ours, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the transfer of ownership couldn't be completed even though six months had passed since the agreement expired.
"He promised to pay RM40,000, but only RM10,000 was paid."
"When the pandemic situation improved, we checked with the Kota Bharu Land and District Office, but we were shocked to find that the property had been transferred to another individual's name," he said.
Ryzal said that they attempted several negotiations with the individual to resolve the breach of contract, but these efforts were unsuccessful.
He noted that the man had paid RM10,000 in 2021 only after being pushed, with no further payments made.
This prompted Ryzal to engage lawyer Nik Saiful Adli Burhan from Tetuan Irmohizan Rosley and Nik Adli to seek compensation amounting to RM40,000.
"While staying in Korea, we were forced to return to Malaysia multiple times to address these matters, incurring significant transportation costs.
The claim notice has been sent to him, and I will proceed with the lawsuit if he refuses to return my money," he added.
