Police await DNA test results on human remains found in Klang drain
SEPANG - Police are currently waiting for the DNA test results concerning the human remains discovered in a drain near Jalan Kebung, Klang, on Aug 27.
Selangor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the results are expected to be available within two weeks.
"Hospital parties have done the autopsy and it was still under the process of confirming the cause of death," he said in a press conference after attending the case items disposal ceremony at the Sepang district police headquarters today.
Hussein said he received a missing person's report in June and believed that both cases were related as the individual who was reported missing was in their 30s and the remains found were in the same range.
"The remains were found in a decomposing state, we must wait for DNA test results to ensure whether the remains found were of the missing person reported.
"Whether the case is classified as a criminal case or sudden death report (SDR) would be decided after further investigations," he said.
