Newly appointed AG Ahmad Terrirudin starts his duty
PUTRAJAYA - The newly appointed Attorney-General Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh has officially started his duty this morning.
Ahmad Terrirudin, clad in a black suit, arrived at his office at 8.15am and was greeted by the Solicitor General II Datuk Almalena Sharmila Johan and the heads of Attorney-General Chamber (AGC) divisions.
Ahmad Terrirudin did an attendance check-in through the online system.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to the appointment of Ahmad Terrirudin, 54, in accordance with Clause (1) Article 145 of the Federal Constitution.
The appointment of Ahmad Terrirudin thus restored the appointed position among the senior officers of AGC.
Previously, the three incumbents consisted of outsiders, starting with Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali, Tan Sri Tommy Thomas and Idrus himself, who are each former Federal Court Judges and lawyers.
The last time Attorney-General among the agency's senior officers was Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail who held the highest position between 2002 and 2015.
