SHAH ALAM - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's recent actions have sparked controversy over divisive strategies, as explained by MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

According to him, Mahathir's recent actions mirror his past strategy of stoking racial tensions, reminiscent of his divisive tactics in the 1969/70s.

He has a history of exploiting Malaysia's ethnic divisions, which undermines both the state and the monarchy.

"While he once advocated unity and harmony, his recent actions show a disregard for the Constitution and the Royal Institution.

"It's clear he's attempting to sow discord within the current government and create opposition against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," Ti Lian told Sinar Daily.

However, Anwar is working to build a platform promoting unity and inclusivity, but Mahathir's divisive tactics are tearing at the social fabric.

Ti Lian stressed the need to move forward, treating each other with respect and embracing shared values and culture.

"Our strength lies in unity, and we must preserve the harmony that defines our nation.

It was recently reported that Mahathir had labelled non-Malay political parties as 'immigrant parties,' claiming they contribute to racial issues by not assimilating into Malay culture and forming their own parties.

He criticized Pakatan Harapan (PH) and asserted his right to discuss 3R (race, religion, and royalty) issues, despite government calls to refrain from such topics.
