Drag racer Hattem Rashdi dies at dragway, second MUSC event to end in death

SHAH ALAM - Drag racer Hattem Rashdi died after an accident at the dragway in Pekan, Pahang.

Hattem, 22, who was participating in the Malaysia Drag Bike National ET Record Championship 2023 Road Tour 2023 met with an accident during the race yesterday (Sunday) and died today after 12 hours fighting for his life.

The news of Hattem’s passing was conveyed by his sister in an Instagram story on his (Hattem) account.

“Assalamualaikum, I would like to inform that Hattem Rashdi has passed away at 2.29pm, today (Monday).

“Those who know him could attend his burial at 9am tomorrow (Tuesday). Thank you. Al-Fatihah,” his sister wrote.

It is understood that this was the second event organised by MUSC Motorsport that involved fatality.

MUSC was also the organiser of Battle of The King (BOTK) 2022 event at the Terengganu Race Track in Gong Badak where one of its participants died in an accident during the race, last year.

Sinar Daily is currently trying to get comments from the Pahang police on the incident.
